More than 200 million eggs are being recalled after 35 people in 9 states were diagnosed with Salmonella, none so far in Alabama.

AL.com says the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have the linked the outbreak to Rose Acre Farms in North Carolina.  They say the the eggs in question were sold at stores including Publix and Walmart and have "Best by" dates of April 2 and April 3 on them. If you do have some of these eggs you should throw them out or return them where you purchased them.  Although most people have probably thrown out those eggs at this point, it can take 2-4 weeks before a person is diagnosed with Salmonella, so some cases may still be found.

About 450 people die each year of Salmonella in the U.S., although none are reported with this case.  Most people with Salmonella develop diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps between 12 and 72 hours after infection. Symptoms usually lasts four to seven days and most people recover without treatment, but infants, children and older people are at a bigger risk.
