A few months back, I was driving down McFarland Boulevard and surprised to discover that Krystal had closed for renovations. In case you missed it, you can read that blog HERE

Now we have received word that Krystal will be open for business on Monday, August 20th, with an official grand re-opening to take place on Thursday, September 13th.

The original building was constructed back in 1976, However, Krystal officials felt that the time was right to rebuild, to give the restaurant a more modern appearance, and to help keep up with current consumer demand.

Paul Macaluso, Krystal president and CEO, said in a press statement, We’re seeing more drive-through business, especially for late night, with University of Alabama, Shelton State and Stillman students here in Tuscaloosa. The drive-through design is built for speed and serviceability with a single window, expanded work zone and double drive-lane.”

Krystal currently has 362 restaurants spread out across the Southeast. In addition to Tuscaloosa, the company plans to redesign about one third of their restaurants over the next five years.
