A 30-year-old man is being charged with reckless endangerment and tampering with physical evidence after a University of Alabama student was randomly shot in the arm.

The shooting took place around 12:40pm at Another Broken Egg Cafe--a popular eatery for UA students on Jack Warner Parkway as Javaris Deangelo Dubose, the caretaker of a 28-year-old developmentally challenged man, left his client in the car with a loaded pistol, while he went inside to reserve a table for himself and a friend. His client then opened fire inside the vehicle leaving numerous bullet holes, as well as striking the arm of a 21-year-old student who was leaving the eatery.

When the shooting ended, the caretaker left the scene and drove away with the disabled man. He was later stopped and arrested by patrol officers.

Javaris Dubose is being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $12,000.00 bond and the shooter has been transferred to a facility for monitoring. The student who was shot was transferred to DCH and has already been released.
