Are you looking to save some money? Well, here's your chance! Because Alabama’s summer sales tax holiday has officially begun!

From 12:01 a.m. Friday to Midnight Sunday, over 300 cities and counties throughout the state of Alabama will waive local taxes on specific back-to-school items. The good news for us is that most of West Alabama is participating in this tax exempt sale including: Tuscaloosa, Northport, and Tuscaloosa County.

The items that will be tax free this weekend can be seen on the state Department of Revenue's website, which you can view HERE   Items that are exempt from taxation include, computers and software, most clothing items, calculators, backpacks, writing utensils and more.

Officials say that even though this holiday is meant to help out those families who are getting ready for the upcoming school year, anyone, (including people without school-age children), can enjoy the perks of the tax free holiday.

So get ready to put some mileage on your credit card this weekend, with the Alabama state tax free holiday.
