Three men were hospitalized late Monday night after they allegedly tried to break up a fight off Skyland Boulevard, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Stephanie Taylor, a department spokeswoman, said officers were called to the 500 block of 43rd Street off of Skyland Boulevard around just before 1 a.m. Tuesday morning on reports of a shooting.

Taylor said a group had come to a house there and were firing shots after an argument took place. The three victims were shot while trying to break up the fight, she said.

Taylor said the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is interviewing witnesses and collecting physical evidence from the scene.

None of the victims' injuries are considered life-threatening.
