The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed close to 3,000 cases of the novel Coronavirus in the past 14 days.

New data listed on the ADPH's COVID-19 Confirmation Dashboard shows the agency has processed 77,051 tests for the virus in the previous two weeks, and of those tests, 2,899 came back positive for the novel Coronavirus.

Across the state of Alabama, 11,101 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. 39.08%, the majority of confirmed cases, are among those between the ages of 25 and 49. 10.15% of confirmed cases are between the ages of 5 and 24. 24.86% of confirmed cases are among those between the ages of 50 and 64, and 25.02% of confirmed cases are among those over the age of 65.

The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 473 deaths from COVID-19 to date. 55.1% of confirmed deaths in Alabama are among males, while 44.9% of confirmed deaths are among females. 81.2% of confirmed deaths have occurred in those over the age of 65, and 16.3% of confirmed deaths have happened in those between the ages of 50 and 65. Only 2.5% of confirmed deaths have occurred in those between the ages of 25 and 49.

The ADPH reports 1,560 confirmed cases have happened among our healthcare workers. 738 confirmed cases have occurred among healthcare employees at long-term healthcare facilities and 1,133 cases have occurred among residents at long-term healthcare facilities. 1,364 COVID-19 cases have required hospitalization since March 13th, and of those patients 496 required intensive care while 293 were placed on a ventilator.

In Tuscaloosa County, the Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 319 cases of the novel Coronavirus out of 6,192 tests processed. Tuscaloosa County has eight reported deaths from COVID-19.
