The Alabama softball team will compete in the Mardi Gras Mambo at the Youngsville Sports Complex in Youngsville, Louisiana from February 25-27. The No. 2 Crimson Tide will play five games in the tournament: Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana, Northwestern State, Louisiana Tech, and No. 20 Louisiana.

Team 26 is coming into Louisiana with an impressive 9-0 record, with three of those wins being over top-10 teams and winning five games by run rule. This will be the third straight weekend that the Crimson Tide has competed in a tournament.

The tournament is hosting 10 teams, including five from Louisiana and five from outside the state, in matchups that will only feature in-state teams versus out-of-state teams.  Alabama and Louisiana are the only two ranked teams in the tournament, as well as it being both teams first time competing in it.

The highlight of the tournament will be No. 2 Alabama against No. 20 Louisiana on Sunday at 11 a.m. CST. While both teams are currently undefeated, only one will come into the tournament still undefeated as they both also play on Thursday, February 24, in Lafayette, Louisiana before heading to Youngsville. Louisiana is likely to have a crowd advantage in both games against the Crimson Tide as the Ragin' Cajuns are the home state of both matchups as well as the game at the Youngsville Sports Complex on Sunday will only be 11 miles from the Ragin' Cajuns home field.

Alabama will begin its tournament schedule on Friday, February 25 at 2 p.m. CT against Nicholls. To catch the Crimson Tide in the Mardi Gras Mambo this weekend, you can either tune into 97.5 FM or nick975.com for radio coverage.
