Police are searching for a suspect they believe fired shots that stuck two persons Saturday Night. The injured victims are a 5-year-old girl and a 41-year-old man who remain in critical condition.

The suspect, Brandon Hurst, 24, is wanted on multiple charges including: attempted murder and first-degree assault, after alleging shooting into occupied and unoccupied homes, and into a car, following a shootout on 25th Street near Elm Street, located in the west end of Tuscaloosa.

According to authorities, at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday, police were called to home on 25th Street where a party was taking place, after gunshots were heard in the area. Witnesses say that what began as an argument quickly turned to gunfire.

Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit assistant commander Capt. Kip Hart told reporters, “The suspect was seen brandishing a gun and was asked to leave the area. An argument started and the suspect began firing at the male victim, who was standing in the yard of his house. After shooting the male victim, the suspect ran down the street and continued to fire in the direction of the victim.” Hart also added that more than 20 shots were fired.

Both victims were hospitalized, and being treated for life-threatening injuries early Sunday.
