Auburn vs. Mississippi State Postponed Due to COVID-19

The Auburn Tigers were scheduled to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs this weekend in Starkville, Mississippi. The matchup has now been postponed by the SEC due to COVID-19 protocol issues with the Mississippi State program. The game is tentatively being rescheduled for Dec. 12.

This marks the second game that has been altered by COVID-19 this season in the SEC after the LSU-Florida matchup was rescheduled earlier in the year.

The SEC has multiple ongoing COVID-19 issues going on this weekend, Mississippi State, LSU, Texas A&M and Arkansas have all dealt with issues this week.

There is concern that the contest between LSU and Alabama may not happen this week due to the issues that the Tigers are facing. LSU has several member in quarantine and are right on the edge of the SEC's roster limitations.

Texas A&M has shut down team facilities after multiple positive COVID-19 tests have been returned in the program. At least one player and one student worker who travelled with the team on its road trip to South Carolina have been confirmed to have tested positive.

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman has confirmed he tested positive for COVID-19 and he will miss this weekend's game unless he can test negative three consecutive times.

The Auburn Tigers will now have two consecutive BYE weeks after Mississippi State is unable to play this weekend due to its COVID-19 situation. Auburn will take on Tennessee at home in its next game on Nov. 21.
