Boaters Discover Deceased Male at Fosters Landing
At about 5:30 PM yesterday the Tuscaloosa Co. Sheriffs Office was called to the Fosters boat landing off US 11/43 near Fosters. Boaters had returned to the landing from the river and discovered a deceased male that had been shot several times. The Violent Crimes Unit responded and assumed the investigation. Kenneth White, 55 years of age, was developed as a suspect. He was located and interviewed. Investigators worked through the night locating witnesses, executing search warrants, and obtaining multiple items of evidence. Early Sunday morning, after consultation with the District Attorney's office, Kenneth White was charged with Murder, Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm (Felon), and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree (Firearm). Due to an extensive criminal history, including convictions for violent felonies over the last 20 years, a judge was contacted and a court order was obtained placing this suspect in jail with no bond allowed until later review by the courts. The identity of the deceased as not been released at this time.
