Former 5-star guard in the 2020 recruiting class has transferred to Alabama from Texas Tech. Nate Oats hauls in another 5-star McDonald's All-American, making it a three-headed monster in the back-court. Burnett joins the other All-Americans on the Crimson Tide with, Jahvon Quinerly and 2021 recruit J.D. Davison. This is now the second addition to the 2021 roster this week for Oats.

Burnett was high on Alabama when initially recruited for the 2020 class. The guard ultimately chose Texas Tech and head coach Chris Beard. Beard is now out of the picture with the Red Raiders, as he recently took the head coaching position at Texas. Burnett also did not receive much playing time this past season, due to the fact he was competing with two former 5-star guards in Mac McClung and Jamarius Burton.

However, Burnett shows much promise in his game. The young guard uses his big body both well on and off the ball. He shows range to be more than a true point guard. Alabama will have to use all three of their 5 -tar All-Americans in multiple ways on the offensive end. Quinerly showed tremendous ball handling, and new enrollee J.D. Davison can explode past anyone guarding him. Burnett could easily fit in with this system of athletic ball handlers who can defend and shoot the three ball.

Burnett now puts Alabama one over for their roster limit for the 2021 season, meaning roster management is on deck for Oats. Someone will have to leave the team to make room for Burnett's arrival.
