Now that it's summer and the kids are out or school, lots of us are looking forward to getting away and taking a vacation.  Maybe it's not a full vacation, just a getaway to the beach or two.  Either way, you want to be do everything to make sure someone doesn't break into your home while you're gone.

Some things we already knew, don't post on social media that you'll be gone, install a burglary alarm, or at least make it look like you did, and install motion activated lights around the outside of your home.  Bark.com spoke with two former burglars to get some tips on how to protect your home while you're gone. They had a couple other ideas that make complete sense.  The suggested you install a deadlock to make it harder to pick.  They also said you should make sure the lawn is freshly mowed before you go so it doesn't look like you've been gone, and they even suggested putting WD-40 on your window sill to make them harder to grip and use to break into your home.
