HomeGoods, the discount retailer coming to the old Toys 'R Us location in Tuscaloosa's McFarland Plaza, has set an grand opening date of September 8th, their corporate office told Townsquare Media Monday morning.

The off-price store offers brand name decor, kitchen ware, bedding and much more at 20 - 60 percent off department and specialty store prices.

HomeGoods is set to occupy the 23,000-square foot storefront that housed Toys ‘R Us until the store closed last year. The building has been extensively renovated and redesigned since GBT Realty Corporation agreed to bring the new store to that spot.

The brand was created and is owned by the TJX Companies, which also operates the T.J. Maxx store in McFarland Plaza next door to the new retailer.
