Alabama softball outfielder Larissa Preuitt has won SEC Freshman of the Week.

The Ala., native won the award for her performance in Alabama's series win against Ole Miss, recording eight hits, three runs batted in, three doubles, one run, and one stolen base.

"Larissa Preuitt, an outfielder from Hartselle, Ala., posted a .727 batting average along with eight hits, three RBI and one run scored in the series win at Ole Miss. Preuitt recorded at least one hit in all three games against the Rebels, including three doubles. Her four hits in game one was the most for any Alabama player this season and the first four-hit game for a Crimson Tide player since March 2 last season," said the SEC. 

This season, Preuitt has had a stellar rookie campaign, starting 41 of her 51 games played and recording a .287 batting average, 31 hits, 19 runs, 18 runs batted in, 11 stolen bases, seven walks, and a home run.

Preuitt joins Auburn's Maddie Penta (Pitcher of the Week) and LSU's Ali Newland (Player of the Week) in receiving weekly honors from the conference.
