The Alabama Crimson Tide enters its last week of what has been a disappointing 2022 season. The Tide hosts Auburn in the annual Iron Bowl, but cannot go to the SEC Championship and has very slim odds to make the College Football Playoffs. Many people have already begun looking to next year.

Alabama cornerback Khyree Jackson has opted to enter the transfer portal. He is the third Crimson Tide player to announce his intentions for the portal, following Jack Martin and Trey Sanders.

Jackson came to the Crimson Tide as a JUCO prospect out of East Mississippi Community College in the 2021 recruiting class. He appeared in  21 games for the Tide over the last two seasons as a cornerback and a special teamer.

The lengthy corner worked his way into a starter's role for the 2021 National Championship and was starting at the beginning of the 2022 season. Unfortunately for Jackson, a difficult outing against the Texas Longhorns saw him lose his spot as a starter and he's served as a reserve throughout the 2022 season.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban had little to offer on Jackson as he's been absent from the team since the loss to LSU.

“He’s suspended right now," Saban said on Monday.

It appears Jackson has one year of eligibility remaining, however it's difficult to discern how COVID-19 effects his eligibility.

Alabama still has one game remaining against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday and then will likely play in a New Year's Six Bowl game. How many more Crimson Tide players will we see enter the transfer portal?
