Former UAB safety Jaylen Key has transferred to Alabama.

He announced the decision days after visiting the Capstone.

The Fla., native played four seasons for the Blazers, recording 74 total tackles (55 solo, 19 assisted), 3.5 tackles for loss for ten yards, one sack for seven yards, five passes defended, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

Key is a former three-star recruit from the class of 2018, who ranked No. 121 in safeties and No. 254 in the state of Fla., according to 247Sports. He currently ranks No. 299 overall and No. 22 in safeties in 247Sports' Transfer Rankings. 

He is the fifth player to come to Tuscaloosa, Ala., from the portal, joining former Louisiana cornerback Trey Amos, former Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Buchner, former Georgia linebacker Trezmen Marshall, and former Maryland tight end C.J. Dippre.
