Here comes the money!

Former Alabama wide receivers are having a strong offseason in terms of getting paid. First, it was Jerry Jeudy being traded from Denver to Cleveland and signing a three-year, $52.5 million extension with the Browns shortly after.

DeVonta Smith was next, with the former Alabama Heisman winner signing a three-year, $75 million extension after the Eagles picked up his fifth-year option.

Jaylen Waddle is the latest Crimson Tide wide receiver to get a big payday. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Waddle and the Miami Dolphins agreed to terms on a three-year, $84.75 million extension with $76 million guaranteed.

Waddle has recorded 1,000 yards or more in every season he's played in the NFL, with his best season statistically coming in 2022 when he had 1,356 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Waddle was drafted No. 6 overall in the 2021 NFL draft by the Dolphins after spending three seasons in Tuscaloosa playing for Alabama. During his time at Alabama, Waddle recorded 1,999 yards and 17 touchdowns. While the stats are not overly eye-popping, Waddle was the fourth wide receiver in the "Rydeouts" that included four first-round wide receivers at Alabama - Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, DeVonta Smith, and Waddle.

Waddle is the wide receiver two in Miami, with the Dolphins using Tyreek Hill as the team's primary receiving target. Waddle is looking at a bounce-back season after an ankle injury forced him to miss three games in 2023.
