Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer mentioned during "Hey Coach" on Wednesday night that Proctor's injury was a shoulder injury, and would be "day-to-day" rather than the initial concern of it being a "week-to-week."

The hope is Proctor can return by SEC. However, it will take more time than a week for Proctor to return to the lineup. According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Proctor is doubtful for the Crimson Tide's game against South Florida.

Proctor started all 14 games for Alabama last season, earning All-SEC Freshman honors. In his absence last week against Western Kentucky, Elijah Pritchett got the start at left tackle on a last-minute lineup switch.

Pritchett struggled last week but improved during the game. It is currently unclear if Pritchett will start his second consecutive game at left tackle for the Crimson Tide, as the Tide have been rumored to be experimenting with some lineup changes.

Last week's starting offensive line was:

LT: Elijah Pritchett
LF: Tyler Booker
C: Parker Brailsford
RG: Jaeden Roberts
RT: Wilkin Formby

In 2023, Pritchett competed and rotated with Proctor during the regular season until the Tennessee game, where Proctor started and played in every game, including the Tide's loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

Pritchett spent spring football as the first-team left tackle after Proctor transferred to Iowa for spring football. After Proctor returned during Summer camp, Pritchett competed with Formby for the first-team right tackle spot. Formby earned the start against Western Kentucky.
