Is there anything wrong with that?

NO, not one thing!

You might be a redneck if your elementary school kids are hanging out of car windows and open rooftops.

Didn't Jeff Foxworthy say that one time?

I don't think he had thought of that one.

OK, I'm just having a little fun with the "redneck" thing.

I'm a redneck too and there's nothing wrong with that at all.

However, when the Northport Police Department has to issue a warning to parents due to their kids hanging out of vehicles in the car line at school.

ZERO TOLERANCE:

We have several complaints of parents at Northport Elementary School allowing their children to hang out windows and open roof tops of vehicles. Northport Police Department will begin enforcing all traffic laws associated with children riding in cars on all school campuses in Northport TODAY. Please share this post with the parents that are allowing their kids to do this. I am sure they would rather use their hard-earned money to pay for things other than citations and fines.
**** No Child restraint citation: $187
**** No seatbelt: $41
**** Violation of hands-free driving law: $182 up to $312
Yeah, the police are now monitoring car lines in Northport and threatening to pull over anyone allowing their kids to hang out of the vehicle.
Now, let's not even get into how dangerous this is and could kill a child.
I love how it makes us look all over the country to folks reading social media.
It's the old "It's just Alabama being Alabama" comments from people in other states.
That doesn't bother me that much, but the fact that a kid could be killed or seriously hurt does bother me.
Here are some other comments from the Facebook/Northport PD post:

So being devil's advocate here...
The school asks for the child to be unbuckled and ready to get out of the car before they get stopped in the car rider line.
Now, I know that doesn't mean for the kid to stand out of the sunroof or hang out the window.
But, I would think the parents are thinking they are inching up in this line, barely moving, and may not have thought much of it. ‍♀️
But I feel like this has always happened....

I’d be much more interested in seeing them do something about the people driving the wrong way down the 1 way at NES.

Right on schedule, the donut patrol is anchored down on Hwy 43 at 7:45am with a steaming cup of coffee waiting for that reckless driver tempting fate at 61mph while they ignore the very thing this post is about. At least they weren't hiding in the church parking lots (aka Private Property)

Failing to see the injured party here. Why would you call the police on people for minding their business? Cause you don’t like minding yours? We can tell Karen, go sit down somewhere and worry about yourself.
