THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE

Let's keep the main thing, the main thing. This is a stove that can turn ON completely on its own.

Yeah, not a good look. Stoves shouldn't be turning on whenever they feel like warming up a bit! This is highly dangerous!

These stoves have already been involved in a recall in previous years, so they refer to this as a  "re-announcement" of the recall, that originally took place back in 2009, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Nobody seems to be able to answer the question of how this dangerous issue has existed for over a decade. Why didn't engineers with Kenmore or Frigidaire get to work on this years ago and find a solution?

That seems like a reasonable question to me, as a current owner of a Kenmore product at my home in Alabama. How tough could this be? If you can't fix it, don't sell it to the public.

I don't understand how this has persisted for so long.

Let's clarify the main reason the stoves are now under a re-announcement recall is due to the many reports of incidents and injuries.

Since the prior recall announcement 15 years ago, stats show 212 reports, 14 of which were reports of fire and 8 of them involving an injury.

So, this recall is very important, and failure to check your stove/range could lead to a very dangerous outcome.
