Tuscaloosa’s Benjamin Barnes is Seeking Advisory Council Members
The Benjamin Barnes YMCA Advisory Council has announced a call for community involvement. It is actively seeking individuals of all ages to join its committee.
This initiative aims to ensure that committee members have diverse input on the ongoing project while mobilizing efforts to publicize the upcoming donor wall and raise funds.
“The 2025 Youth Fundraising Campaign aims to enhance the facilities and programs offered by the YMCA. The council plans to introduce a Donor Wall within the new Barnes YMCA to recognize and honor contributors,” said the press release. This initiative not only aims to secure necessary funding but also seeks to foster a culture of giving and community involvement.
Importance of the Benjamin Barnes Donor Wall
“It is important to honor Mr. Barnes and the countless people who worked, volunteered, or who were impacted by the Barnes YMCA. The Barnes Council decided the donor wall would be a great fundraiser and way to honor people from the community,” said Tanika Rice, Benjamin Barnes YMCA Advisory Council Fundraising Chair.
“The actual campaign kicks off January 17,” said Rice. Donors can contribute on various levels, starting at $250 up to 10,000 or more.
