The message continues to reveal that multiple bullets were found at the school Monday including one on the playground. It's stated in the message that the bullets were transported to the school by a younger student.

It was made clear that neither a weapon nor a magazine were found, just bullets. Parents were also encouraged to check the backpacks of students before every school day.

Taylorville Primary Families,
We want to make you aware of a situation that happened at our school today. Several bullets were discovered on our campus, inside the school and on the playground. We were quickly able to determine that one of our younger students brought the bullets to school and dropped them. The student did not bring a weapon. Our school resource officer was on campus to support us during this investigation.

We know we have recently contacted our families about the importance of helping your student understand what is allowed at school and what is not, but this is so important.
Many of our students simply do not understand this concept yet. Please help them understand that there are disciplinary consequences for bringing things to school that are not allowed. Please check their backpacks before school each day. We sincerely appreciate your help in this.

Please reach out to us directly with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,

Mrs. Laurie Presley, Principal
Mr. Tyler Johnson, Assistant
Principal

A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the school and found a bullet left on school grounds and a few more in possession of a young student, but there was no threat made to the school even as similar calls have been reported across the region, state and nation this academic year.
