The Druid City Arts Festival, a free event that hosts and highlights a collection of local artists, musicians and food vendors, will return to downtown Tuscaloosa this weekend.

The festival was launched in 2010 by University of Alabama freshmen looking to promote local arts and culture. Beyond anyone's expectations, it attracted more than 7,500 attendees and has grown each year.

This year, the two-day festival will showcase the work of more than 75 local artists and feature educational demonstrations, children's art activities and a full weekend of live music.

The art showcased will represent many different media, and the music acts slated for the festival vary widely in genre, from country to folk to alternative pop.

The festival will be held at Government Plaza from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Friday Mar. 31, and return Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the DCAF website to see vendors, performance schedule and more.
