A 17-year-old from Moundville is dead after a pair of teenagers were ejected from a truck that crashed in Tuscaloosa County early Saturday morning.

Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. said the driver, a 17-year-old from Tuscaloosa, was on Bradley Road around 30 minutes after midnight Saturday morning when they left the roadway.

King said the 2005 GMC Sierra they were driving then struck several trees, and neither teenager was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

King said both the juveniles were ejected from the truck, and the passenger from Moundville did not survive the injuries they suffered in the wreck. The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been publicly identified.

The driver was also injured and transported to a nearby hospital after the accident.

King said the accident took place a few miles south of Tuscaloosa on Bradley Road, which connects McFarland Boulevard and Hargrove Road East.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
