Victim of Tuscaloosa Triple Shooting Dies, All Parties in Custody
One victim of a triple shooting in west Tuscaloosa Wednesday has died, and the other two are still being treated for injuries, investigators said in a Thursday morning update.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said police officers responded to the 2700 block of Beech Street in Tuscaloosa Wednesday at 4 p.m. on reports of a shooting.
They found three males who had been shot, and all victims were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Kennedy said while the men were receiving medical care, the VCU got to work investigating. He said there were many people present at the time of the shooting and police were able to take all parties involved into custody.
Some witnesses have been identified and interviewed, but Kennedy said anyone else who saw what happened is urged to call the VCU at 205-464-8690.
Kennedy said that criminal charges against at least one person are pending and will be filed at the end of the investigation.
The killing is the 18th homicide in the city so far in 2024 - a record-breaking number.
