Kudos To The SCLC And The Annual Unity Breakfast

This morning I had the extreme pleasure of joining the SCLC Annual Unity Breakfast at the Beulah Baptist Church, where Reverend David E. Gay, Jr. is the Pastor.  The event was held in the Family Life Center, and it was a packed house.  The Mistress of Order was Sonya McKinstry, Tuscaloosa City Council District 7.  The overall theme of the event was truly in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The Unity Breakfast hosted the Wardlaw Brothers which the crowd especially enjoyed their rendition of “Amazing Grace.”  People were on their feet for their magical voices.  The Wardlaw Brothers were incredible.

The speaker for the occasion was Dr. Charles Steele, Jr., the National President and CEO of the S.C.L.C.  In his passionate address, he gave us many wonderful stories, and he reminded us all that, “all you need is a little encouragement.”  And Steele shouted several times, “I love you, Tuscaloosa.”
