Lana Is Sure To Brighten Up Your Home

There's nothing like a great comeback story. Everyone likes to root for the underdog. Specifically, I love hearing about animals that were counted out or wasn't expected to make it turn it all around and flourish. That's exactly how I'd describe this dog. Found as a stray and was skinny at first, but is now playful, healthy and smart.

Every week, we team up with the Humane Society of West Alabama to bring you a pet that's looking for a home. This week's HSWA Pet of the Week is Lana.

Lana is a 5 to 6-year old American bulldog mix who was found as a skinny stray. Once she is fully filled out, we expect her to be around 60 pounds, so we have been offering her plenty of treats to help her bulk up. This beautiful dog is smart, happy, and social! She would love to be someone's walking partner since she is an active dog. We suspect she has some hound in her, because she is a motivated fence jumper. If she smells something interesting on the other side of the fence, she may be inclined to climb over it to explore, so we recommend a privacy fence for her.
