Lynyrd Skynyrd have been announced as part of the lineup for a very special Volunteer Jam in 2018.

The iconic southern rock group will perform to honor longtime friend Charlie Daniels at Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute to Charlie in March. The special anniversary show will feature the artists on the bill each performing songs in honor of Daniels in addition to their own hits. It will mark Skynyrd's only Nashville gig before they kick off their farewell 2018 Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour in May.

That tour is slated to run for two years, with  Kid RockHank Williams, Jr., Charlie Daniels Band, Bad CompanyMarshall Tucker Band38 SpecialBlackberry Smoke and Blackfoot among the artists who will perform as special guests.

Volunteer Jam 2018 marks an important homecoming for the band, as Lynyrd Skynyrd returned to the stage with Daniels at Volunteer Jam ’79 for the first time after a devastating 1977 plane crash that killed several members of the band.

We’re honored that they are joining this extraordinary lineup of artists before they embark on the farewell tour," says Blackbird Presents CEO Keith Wortman, who's serving as executive producer of Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute to Charlie.

Skynyrd joins a previously announced all-star lineup that includes the Charlie Daniels Band, Alabama, Chris YoungAlison KraussJamey JohnsonChris Janson and the Oak Ridge Boys, in addition to Blackberry Smoke, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and former Allman Brothers Band member Chuck Leavell.

Bobby Bare, Justin MooreRicky Skaggs and Eddie Montgomery have also been tapped to perform, along with Lee Brice, Sara Evans and Travis Tritt.

The 2018 Volunteer Jam is set for the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 7PM CT. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization co-founded by Daniels and manager David Corlew to help veterans.
