For the Eagles, the rushing attack was the name of the game. Montgomery Academy ran the ball a total of 37 times in the game for over 200 yards. The attack was led by running back Jashawn Cooper who finished with two rushing touchdowns and over 100 yards of total offense and Jamal Cooper Jr. who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.

After the victory, Eagles head coach, Robert Johnson said that the run game is a big part of their offense.

"We run the ball a lot, but we also threw at key moments," Johnson said. "We also had two touchdown passes tonight and almost a third. It was a balanced attack for us."

That passing offense that Coach Johnson spoke of was led by quarterback Britton Kohn. Kohn struggled in the beginning of the game but turned it around with a great pass to Alex Kohn who made a spectacular catch in the endzone. Alex followed it up by making the extra point during that drive. Coach Johnson spoke of his quarterback's effort tonight.

"He does a great job managing the game and is also probably our best athlete. We really rely on him to make the big plays for us like he did tonight."

For Hale County, it started out being a great night offensively as quarterback Matthew Swartz ended the first quarter completing 5-7 passing attempts for 90 yards and a touchdown. The Wildcats turned the ball over four times. Coach Mark Hastings said he believed the turnovers hurt them in the overall game plan.

"Turning the ball over really cost us," Hastings said. "I thought we did some good stuff and grew in some ways tonight, but we have a long way to go to be competitive on the level we want to be at."
