Infection, Hospitalization Force Ozzy Osbourne to Postpone Show
An unspecified infection required Ozzy Osbourne to have surgery on his hand this morning. As a result, the singer was forced to postpone a concert scheduled for tonight (Oct. 6) in Mountain View, California.
According to a press release, Osbourne will spend "a couple of days" at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, where doctors will monitor his infection. The longtime Black Sabbath frontman is expected to be able to return for the next scheduled stop on his solo No More Tours 2 tour, Tuesday Oct. 9 in Chula Visa, California. In addition, the make-up date for tonight's postponed Mountain View show has already been announced as Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Despite the seeming finality of his current tour's name, Osbourne has repeatedly stated that he's not fully retiring - only saying goodbye to extended world tours. "I’m still going to be doing gigs," he told Rolling Stone, "but I’m not going on tour for six months at a time anymore. I’d like to spend some time at home. I've experienced fantastic things; it's been an incredible journey. I just need to slow it down a little.”
In February of 2017, Ozzy, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler wrapped up Black Sabbath's farewell tour with a concert in their hometown of Birmingham, England.
