The Tuscaloosa Police Department has arrested a man accused of breaking into homes on the fringes of the campus of the University of Alabama and watching women sleep.

Lt. Teena Richardson, a TPD spokeswoman, said a man broke into a residence on 6th Avenue earlier this month and a woman inside woke up to find him standing at the foot of her bedat 4 o'clock in the morning.

Several days later, another victim reported the same thing -- she woke up late at night and a man was standing at the foot of her bed.

Richardson said police were able to identify 35-year-old Jim McCoy III as a suspect and arrested him early Sunday morning.

McCoy is charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal trespassing. He was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $30,500 bound.

Richardson said the investigation is on-going and more charges against McCoy are pending.
