Severe storms are in the forecast for tonight and into the morning hours tomorrow, bringing a chance for heavy rain, damaging winds, and tornadoes. 

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has placed Tuscaloosa in a Slight Risk Area for severe weather; damaging winds of up to 60 miles per hour are possible as well as a tornado or two.

Portions of northwest Alabama, including Hamilton, have been placed under an Elevated Risk Area tomorrow; tornadoes and damaging winds of up to 70 miles an hour are possible within this area.

The current forecast has storms impacting west Alabama between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuscaloosa's forecast window for severe storms is between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m.
