Skyland Boulevard Starbucks Unexpectedly Closes
Hold your peppermint mochas – Tuscaloosa might have lost a Starbucks.
The coffee shop located at the corner of Highway 69 and Skyland Boulevard affixed signs to its doors and drive-thru speaker indicating that the store has temporarily closed. There was no explanation for the unexpected closure.
"Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience," the sign read. "We are working to re-open our store as quickly as possible."
The store also shows up as "temporarily closed" in a Google search, and the location right off I-20 does not show up on the store locator map on Starbucks' website or mobile app.
But, the closure might not be temporary.
A customer service representative at Starbucks' corporate office call center could not find any trace of information on this specific store location. The representative indicated that only three locations exist in the Tuscaloosa area: in the Ferguson Student Center and in the Corner SUPEStore at the University of Alabama, and at the corner of Veterans Memorial Parkway and McFarland Boulevard.
General managers at neighboring stores were not available for comment at the time of publication of this story.
Whether this store is closed temporarily or permanently is yet to be seen but stay connected to the Tuscaloosa Thread for more details as they are made available.
