Central Falcons

Due to the threat of inclement weather, multiple high school football games have been pushed up this week.

Central picked up a big home win to start regional play on Friday night.

The Central Falcons fell to 0-2 after suffering a defeat at the hands of the visiting Woodlawn Colonels on Friday night.

County High will hit the road next week to take on Bessemer City while Central returns home and will take on Woodlawn.

Now that region play is over, many teams across west Alabama are preparing for the first round of the playoffs. With that being said, the final week of the regular season stands in the way. From games that can determine a 10-0 perfect season to an intense cross-county rivalry, these games might not be regional, but they are still just as important.

The Selma Saints (5-2,4-0 ) started as strong as they finished dismantling the Central Falcons (2-5,1-4) .

The Central Falcons (2-2, 1-1) defeated the Marbury Bulldogs (3-2, 1-2) by a score of 27-12 to even their Class 5A Region 3 record this Friday evening.

In what started as a defensive battle full of fumbles, the Demopolis Tigers (3-0, 1-0) took down the Central Falcons 40-24. The Tigers had a rough half, losing three of their four fumbles. Demopolis coach Brian Seymore helped his team turn that around in the second half with four touchdowns, three of which were unanswered in the fourth quarter.

Friday night, Northridge High School (2-0, 0-0) made a statement with a 26-0 win over Central High School (Tuscaloosa) (1-1, 0-0).
