UPDATE: The Blue Plate Restaurant In Northport
We love our local businesses, especially our local eateries.
Recently, I wrote a story on local restaurants (as well as others across Alabama) and the latest scores from the Health Department.
Many restaurants were mentioned, but The Blue Plate in Northport got the most attention. It's a great restaurant!
The restaurant closed down for a day to repair minor items that needed to be fixed.
In my opinion, the reasons the Blue Plate got points taken off their inspection score, were incredibly minor. Some might even argue they were stupid. That's just my opinion.
In fact, the restaurant responded on facebook.

For the record, I have been a fan of The Blue Plate for years.
The problem with SOME inspection scores at restaurants is that we don't get to see the full list of "violations".
I lived in Dothan until 2021 and I had many lunches at the Dothan location.
I'm a fan of their Pecan Smoked Chicken and that Strawberry Shortcake. I liked it so much, I even took my folks there when they visited from Virginia.
The Pork Ribeye is another favorite. A huge prime pork steak, slow cooked and chargrilled for that true grilled flavor.
That Pecan Smoked Chicken is a mighty boneless chicken breast, grilled and bathed in their own housemade Alabama white BBQ sauce. You ain't havin' fun until that sauce is all over your shirt.
I'm also pretty fond of the "seasonal" cobblers. Especially that Peach Cobbler with no cinnamon! Sorry, real cobbler ain't supposed to be made with cinnamon!
I feel better now, but I'm extremely hungry.
