To Fall In Love, Guaranteed, Take This Test
This is truly amazing.
And, it's based in actual science. Kinda.
A psychologist named Arthur Aron believes that you can experience true intimacy by answering these questions for complete strangers.
Two strangers. 36 questions. After that, you could start to have strong feelings of intimacy towards that stranger.
Does that sound crazy? It does to me.
The questions are personal but not over the line.
The idea is that mutual vulnerability fosters closeness.
In fact, the final task in this intimacy test, is to stare into each others eyes for four minutes. Four minutes is the maximum, however, two minutes is the minimum.
The claim is that two minutes can be "terrifying" while four "really goes somewhere".
OK, Are you ready for a few sample questions?
Let's do this.
Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
What would constitute a "perfect" day for you?
Do you have a hunch about how you will die?
For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
Take four minutes, and tell the other person your life story in as much detail as possible.
The questions are divided into four sets, and the questions above are from "Set 1".
A few from "Set 2":
If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?
What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?
What is your most treasured memory?
If you knew that in a year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living?
Share with the other person an embarrassing moment in your life.
Those are just eleven of the thirty-six questions that can lead to love.
It might be a fun exercise this weekend, and remember, the full test is linked above.
