Who doesn't love a good mystery? There has to be a story behind the beautiful woman in this Tuscaloosa painting--and maybe YOU could be the one to finally write her happy ending.

As you can see, the owner of the painting has been trying to discover the mystery woman's identity for nearly 30 years.

She certainly is lovely. Her piercing brown eyes and rosy cheeks seem to be those of a young woman. Her hair is cut into a short bob with finger waves that were popular in the 1920s. She reminds me of a young Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald.

Quick history lesson here: Alabama girl Zelda Sayre married famous author F. Scott Fitzgerald. She was the inspiration for most of Scott's best novels like The Beautiful and the Damned and The Great Gatsby (and maybe even the author of those novels, too...), and Scott and Zelda were like the Kim and Kayne of the Roaring Twenties.

Zelda was known to party at the University of Alabama back in the day, so could this have been a painting done by an admirer?

Or is the mystery woman someone else? She could be someone's great-grandmother or long-lost love.

I am absolutely fascinated by this mystery. Do you know who the mystery woman is? Message me using our app chat and help me crack the case!
