Two people were injured and one person is dead following a Thanksgiving Day shooting at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, Alabama.al.com reports the shooting happened at the mall last night around 9:52 p.m. The shooting began when two young men became involved in an altercation outside between J.C. Penney and Foot Action. An 18-year-old man was shot and rushed to the UAB Trauma Center, and a 12-year-old bystander was also shot and taken to Children's Hospital for treatment.

Hoover Police shot and killed the shooter, a 21-year-old Hueytown resident whose name has not been released at this time.

The shooting caused panic at the Galleria, where shoppers attempted to flee the scene. Many others were forced to find shelter in locations throughout the mall.
