Updated Timeline And Risk Level For Severe Weather On Monday

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has made some adjustments to the Severe Weather Outlook for Monday, December 16, 2019. Most of our listening area has been upgraded to an “enhanced” level threat of severe weather.  The timeline has been adjusted as well, from Monday 4 p.m. until Tuesday at 6 a.m.  Our area will be mainly focused between the hours of Monday, 4 p.m. until Tuesday at 1 a.m.

Enhanced Risk does call for Tornadoes, Damaging winds up to 70 mph and quarter-sized hail.  Slight Risk gives the outlook for the possibility of Tornadoes, Damaging winds up to 60 mph, and quarter-sized hail.  The main difference between “Enhanced” and “Slight” risk threat levels is the potential Tornado factor and a ten mph difference in wind speed.  Both threat levels should be taken seriously.  Be sure to download our FREE app now and sign up for the breaking news and weather alerts.
