Fans headed out west for the national championship will probably be looking for some friendly faces since they'll be more than 2,000 miles from Tuscaloosa.

Alabama fans will have a couple opportunities to connect with fellow alumni and fans on Sunday and Monday before the Crimson Tide takes on Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

The festivities will begin on Sunday afternoon as the NorCal Chapter of the Alumni Association hosts a 'Welcome to San Jose' event. Fans are invited to Lilly Mac's Restaurant & Pub in Sunnyvale from 5 to 9 PM. The event is free and there will be live entertainment, food and drink specials, and special guests.

Then on gameday, the National Alumni Association is hosting Tailgating with the Tide to give fans a place to pregame with other Crimson Tide fans.

That event will be hosted at the Santa Clara Convention Center, which is just across the street from Levi's Stadium. Tickets cover food, buttons, shakers, Bama swag, and give you the chance to meet former Alabama legends. They have already confirmed Shaun Alexander, Rashad Johnson, DeMeco Ryans, John Parker Wilson, Glen Coffee, Jr., and Sherman Williams.
