Alabama Women’s Basketball Reveals Non Conference Schedule for 2021-22 Season
This thirteen game schedule features ten home games, two road games, and a neutral-site game.
Before starting the regular season, the Crimson Tide will host the University of Alabama at Huntsville on Nov. 4 in an exhibition match.
Alabama officially starts the season with three home games against Charleston Southern, Tulane, and Southern Miss.
The Crimson Tide will then head to Fort Worth, Texas for a Maggie Dixon Classic showdown with Duke. The Maggie Dixon Classic is held in honor of former Army Black Knights women's basketball coach who died from an undiagnosed heart condition. The Blue Devils are the only non-conference, power five opponent on the Alabama schedule.
The Crimson Tide will then head back to Tuscaloosa for five home games in a row starting off with Mercer, the defending Southern Conference champions. Mercer is the only non-conference opponent on the schedule that competed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Alabama will also host Western Carolina, Bethune-Cookman, Memphis, and Houston before going on the road to face Chattanooga.
The Tide will then return to Coleman Coliseum for a meeting with Sam Houston State before going on the road to face the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
The Alabama women's basketball program will conclude their non-conference slate on Dec. 20 against the Winthrop Eagles.
Seniors Megan Abrams and Hannah Barber, the only returning starters, will look to lead this program to back to back NCAA Tournament appearances.
The Crimson Tide will have eight returners and six newcomers on the 2020-21 team.
