Chicago Announce ‘VI Decades Live’ Box
Chicago have been one of rock's most consistently busy touring acts for decades — and they're inviting fans to look back on some of that history with their upcoming box Chicago: VI Decades Live (This Is What We Do).
Due April 6, VI Decades Live offers a rough overview of the group's touring history, condensed down to four CDs and a DVD that cover performances from 1969 through 2014. Chicago's set at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival covers the first two discs, while a 1977 show originally broadcast on Germany's long-running Rockpalast series fills the DVD.
The rest of the set offers glimpses of Chicago across several of the veteran band's eras, from the multi-platinum '70s to their '80s comeback and beyond. In addition to expected hits, the VI Decades Live track listing makes room for a number of deeper cuts from the group's catalog, including non-single cuts like "Forever" (from 1986's Chicago 18), "The Pull" (from the long-delayed Stone of Sisyphus LP) and "In the Mood" (from 1995's Night & Day: Big Band).
As previously reported, Chicago's touring plans for 2018 include a co-headlining run with REO Speedwagon as well as a residency at the Venetian in Las Vegas. This year's dates — which promise to be "the longest shows of the band's career," according to a press release — will include complete performances of 1970's Chicago II LP.
