Empty Bowls Fundraiser Benefits Tuscaloosa’s Grace Presbyterian Food Pantry
An event that raises hunger awareness in our community, the 14th Annual Empty Bowls, will be held in the Grace Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. The event will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The church is located at 113 Hargrove Road in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
This fundraiser benefits the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry of Grace Presbyterian Church. The Empty Bowls Fundraiser is the “largest fundraiser for Grace Presbyterian's Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry,” according to Facebook.
How to Participate
According to the press release, “for a suggested donation of $15.00, attendees can select a hand-crafted bowl created by local artisans and UA ceramics students, and will receive a meal of soup, bread, and water.”
Empty Bowl events help raise awareness about poverty and raise money for a local charity. The “meager meal is intended to remind participants that food security eludes many of our West Alabama neighbors; the empty bowl shows that many go to bed hungry,” said the press release.
