K-Jack Is Back In Houston
Former Crimson Tide safety Kareem Jackson is returning to the Houston Texans after being released by the Broncos on Christmas day.
Jackson has had an eventful season so far in Denver. His year has included two suspensions and multiple fines totaling more than 89 thousand dollars for violating unnecessary roughness rules. His most recent suspension came following a devastating hit on Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs on Nov. 19.
Following his release on Christmas day, the longtime veteran will return to the team that drafted him in the first round in 2010. Jackson played alongside then starting linebacker, Demeco Ryans, his first two years in the league.
Jackson spoke to KPRC 2 Houston following the news to share his excitement.
"I'm thrilled to be back with the Texans," Jackson said. "It's all coming full-circle having spent a lot of time in Houston. I'm really excited for DeMeco and all the success he's having. I'm here to be a piece to the puzzle, help them win these last two games and get to the playoffs"
His excitement is warranted as Jackson has many fond memories from his time in Houston. While playing for the Texans, Jackson was able to rack up interceptions and is second in team history with 16.
Jackson will join his fellow Alabama brothers Will Anderson Jr., Christian Harris, John Metchie III and Henry To'oto'o in Houston. The Texans are on the outside looking in to the playoffs as the AFC South is one of the tightest races in the league.
