While the Combine starts its first day with defensive linemen and linebackers, Alabama defensive back Terrion Arnold gave media and fans insight into the draft process and his time at Alabama. His confidence spilled over into his answers, leaving many impressed by his drive and motivation going into the NFL Draft.

Regarding his motivation, Arnold shared a moment from the 2022 season that changed his outlook and drive to play football.

"At Alabama in 2022 my redshirt freshman year, after we played Tennessee I got benched," said Arnold. "And I've been telling all the NFL teams that, that right there, it changed everything for me I kind of like to say I had my Michael Jordan moment. I write it down every day. Eli Ricks, that's my brother, but I mean, when I got benched and replaced for him it motivated me. I write it down every day and say I refuse to ever let that happen again and that's what's going to lead me and take me to get that gold jacket which is the hall of fame."

After his incredible performance and improvement this past season, it is now known what the catalyst was for Arnold in his change of play and demeanor. The strange nature of football calls for your friends to be your teammates and your competitors. Eli Ricks and Arnold will inevitably meet again in the NFL creating a full circle on the motivation that helped Arnold become the player he is today.

Of the many teams projected to draft Arnold, the Denver Broncos have been highlighted by many as a landing spot. The question was asked about the possibility of playing alongside former Alabama defensive back Patrick Surtain II. According to Arnold, it would not be much different than this past season.

"Playing next to Pat, it would be like playing next to Kool-Aid," said Arnold. "I mean, you would have somebody at the next level that you can look at, that would challenge you, push you to be better and he's already proven in the NFL. So, I would love to do that if I had the opportunity."

The Denver Broncos pick in the first round at No. 12. While they will be looking to replace Russell Wilson at the quarterback position they may fall too far to have a choice at a premium selection. This would make taking a cornerback at No. 12 and strengthening their secondary a likely choice.

Showcasing his drive, Arnold told reporters how he and Jalen Milroe would have a "Kobe Bryant competition" to see who would get to the football facility first each morning. Arnold mentioned his former starting quarterback again when asked about his ranking and who should be on the cover of the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game.

"Honestly," said Arnold. "With everything I've done. I feel like I should be a 99. Who should be on the cover? Jalen Milroe."

Arnold and the nine other Alabama players at the combine will continue to be analyzed and questioned throughout the week. NFL scouts typically leave no stone unturned, but so far, Terrion Arnold has impressed them with his knowledge, drive, and experience with the game of football. Arnold will showcase his skills on the field on Friday, March 1 when defensive backs and tight ends are due up.
