We received several calls from area residents asking us for information on moving trucks spotted at the Asuka Buffet on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.

Local business executive Mark Bosch, Marketing Manager at Taylor Electrical, told us that he also noticed moving trucks at the Asuka Buffet and that recent work orders for his company had been abruptly canceled.

We called the Asuka Buffet and a representative, who asked not to be identified, told us that the Chinese restaurant no longer operates at 1100 Skyland Boulevard location. In addition, we were told that the restaurant is not moving to another Tuscaloosa location.

You may remember that the location previously was home to a Cheddar's Restaurant for many years. It's unclear at this time what might happen with the space owned by developer Stan Pate.

This is a developing story and updates will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.
