Over 450 high school students from Tuscaloosa City and County attended the I.G.N.I.T.E. Summer Job Fair Wednesday, where rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders got to connect with potential employers and explore summer employment prospects.

With 21 reputable companies slated to participate, including McDonald's, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Piggly Wiggly, DCH, and PARA, students interfaced with a diverse range of job opportunities across various industries.

The job fair also encouraged students to consider dual enrollment programs, apprenticeships, and community resources as avenues for long-term career development.

While some students received conditional job offers during the fair, final hiring decisions will hinge on successfully navigating through the company's onboarding process.

Key figures driving this initiative include the Executive Director of West AlabamaWorks!, Donny Jones, working with Probate Judge Robertson and Tonya Mills, Education and Employment Project Manager.
