Tuscaloosa Police Warn Residents Of New Scam
The Tuscaloosa Police Department sent out a warning Thursday evening about a scam making its rounds using what appears to be their non-emergency number.

TPD says the scam tells people they have federal warrants that can be handled by sending money.

"TPD dispatchers have answered several calls today from people who received calls from what appeared to be our main non-emergency number," the Tuscaloosa Police said in a Facebook post.
"Scammers have spoofed the number, and are telling people they have federal warrants they can take care of by sending money through money transfer apps or gift cards."
