Damage Reported After Possible Tornadoes in West Alabama
Some residences have been destroyed, trees and power lines are down and other damage reports are coming in after possible tornadoes moved through West Alabama Thursday morning.
No serious injuries or loss of life have been reported as of 10:45 a.m. Thursday, but crews are heading out now to evaluate storm damage across West Alabama.
In Hale County, fire and rescue departments reported major structural damage in the Oak Village Area.
Also in Hale County, some residences were destroyed on Highway 25 near Greensboro.
In Sumter County, crews reported a mobile home destroyed in Emelle, a tree on a house on Hammer Sumterville Road and trees down and debris on several roads including Highway 39 and County Road 24.
In Greene County, a tornado or high winds felled trees and power lines along Mesopotamia street near Robert Brown Middle School.
UPDATE, 11:45 A.M.: The City of Eutaw is closed for traffic after storms took down live power lines in the area, but no injuries have been reported and the students of Robert Brown Middle School are safe.
