Police in Northport are investigating after a pair of brazen burglars rammed a stolen truck through the doors of a pawn shop there to steal a handful of guns.

Surveillance footage captured two weeks ago on the morning of March 18th shows a truck slam through the doors of Southern Jewelry and Pawn about two miles north of the Northport Civic Center on Highway 43. The break-in happened a few minutes after 1:30 a.m.

A second camera shows one thief smashing a display case open to steal items inside while a second person appears to use a circular saw to cut through security wire and free up four long guns from a wall display.

General Manager Ana Taylor shared footage of the burglary on social media asking for anyone with information about the crime to contact the pawn shop and Northport Police immediately.

Taylor told the Thread the truck used to ram through the doors was stolen from a business in Tuscaloosa. She said on social media the thieves caused more than $30,000 just to steal four guns worth a few hundred dollars.

Keith Carpenter, the assistant chief of the Northport Police Department, confirmed they are investigating the burglary and said no arrests have been made in the case as of Monday.
